Totems

The Totems series emerges from John Mangiardi’s interventions along the coastline of Westhampton Beach, where driftwood fragments are assembled into vertical forms.

The works engage directly with cycles of exposure and disappearance.

“The transience of it all,” as the artist reflects, becomes central—each piece positioned in quiet tension with the tides and seasonal storms that will inevitably reshape it.
