Description:
Floating Dream gives form to one of childhood's most enduring fantasies: the belief that flight is possible. Inspired by Peter Pan's reveries, the painting transforms that impossible dream into the dream state of a young woman, suspended effortlessly between earth and sky.
Untethered by gravity or logic, the figure drifts in complete surrender, inhabiting a world where imagination remains untouched by the limitations of adulthood. The painting is not about movement through space as much as it is about returning to a state of mind, one in which belief alone is enough to make the impossible feel inevitable.
Like many of John's figurative works, Floating Dream invites viewers to remember a time when wonder required no explanation, and dreams felt more convincing than reality itself.
